Crohn's Disease - Mark Tobin Prymal Podcast

In this special episode Mark Tobin, a fitness coach, athlete and owner of Strive Coaching joins me on the podcast to discuss a type of inflammatory bowel condition known as Crohn’s disease.

Mark’s fiancée Lisa was diagnosed with Crohn’s at the age of 10, and has suffered the effects of the condition for 17 years, so Mark explains what exactly it looks like for somebody living with this type of ailment. He speaks very openly about the challenges Lisa has faced that many people with Crohn’s face today, about his own initial lack of understanding around the disease, and how the suffering can extend much further than the physical symptoms, with a huge element of stigma and shame affecting sufferers.

Mark also speaks about an event he has organised called Walk a Mile in My Shoes where he plans to run 174km across the mountains in August to raise awareness and funds for The Irish Society for Colitis and Crohns Disease (ISCC), an absolutely fantastic cause. If you would like to support Mark on this challenge, you can so so via this link: https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/11403839_walk-a-mile-in-my-shoes.html
